TROOPING FOR THE TROOPER
Shrewsbury, MA - June 19th: The NEG and Alderaan come together again for another fantastic and important event. 501st NEG members Paige Josti and Mike Brunco planned and organized this entire blood drive with the American Red Cross in honor of Paige's brother-in-law who is a Massachusetts State Trooper. For 6 hours, people flowed in to donate close to 100 pints of blood! We had 86 regular donations and over 20 double cell donations (that take up to an hour to donate!)... to put this into perspective, the Red Cross informed us they consider 40 donations to be a successful drive, so this just goes to show you the power of Star Wars and a good cause.

Ayden's Wish with the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION[/size]
Portland, Maine - June 2nd: The Maine chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation contacted Alderaan Base and the 501stNEG to assist in a special request: to help send of 7 year old Ayden Beisaw and his family on their trip to Disney World for Star Wars Weekends. For many of our members, this type event is what it's all about. Ayden has struggled and bravely fought his sickness for 4 years and now that his condition is in remission, he's finally healthy enough to travel. Han Solo was an impromptu Master Of Ceremonies as we gave Ayden some cool gifts, his own custom shirt and inducted him as an honorary member of both Alderaan Base and the 501st NEG. The night was just as special for us as it was for Ayden and his family!

STAR WARS DAY at Higgins Armory Museum
Higgins Armory Museum, Worcester MA - May 22th: Star Wars gets medieval for a second year in a row! We just had another hugely successful Star Wars Day at the legendary and amazing Higgins Armory, complete with armor and weapons from a galaxy far, far away that bear a striking resemblances to their classic historical counterparts. With lines out the door all day and 4 floors of packed crowds, this event proved to be the most popular of the year for the museum for a second year running. We had members patrolling the museum, 2 presentation panels in the auditorium on armor making and the museum even had a lightsaber combat exhibition! If you missed it be sure to catch it next year, as we're sure to take part again next season.

STAR WARS DAY with the PAWTUCKET RED SOX
McCoy Stadium, Pawtucket, RI - APRIL 25th: Time to play ball once more with our good friends at the Pawtucket Red Sox! We were joined by our sister group the 501st NEG, Kamino Base of the Rebel Legion and members of the CTG of the 501st for our Second Annual Star Wars Day with the Boston Red Sox Triple A affiliate. This year was a HUGE success, blowing away the crowds and charitable donations from last year. Reports from the Pawsox tell us they were extremely pleased with this event and are already looking forward to next year's Star Wars Day.

LIGHTSABER LUNCHEON at HASBRO[/size]
Pawtucket, RI - APRIL 12 & 13: Our good friends at the Habro Toys headquarters again requested our services, this time for their Lightsaber Luncheon, which hosted Habro representatives from across the globe. We entertained reps from Brazil, Japan, Romania, Russia, France, Mexico, Germany and all points in between, as well as the rest of the North American team members. The American contingent enjoyed seeing us again but our presence was a special thrill for the international folks who don't get to see a full contingent of Jedi and a big walking carpet every day! Thanks again for treating us with your hospitality, Hasbro!
